Otto Sauter ist als einer der führenden Trompetensolisten weltweit bekannt. Als Spezialist auf der Piccolo-Trompete ist er bereits in allen großen Konzertsälen aufgetreten.
Die musikalische Begabung des in Tengen am Bodensee geborenen Otto Sauter wurde früh gefördert. Im Alter von vier Jahren erhielt er den ersten Trompetenunterricht. Bereits mit 16 Jahren begann er sein Studium bei Claude Rippas am Konservatorium in Winterthur. Dort erwarb er 1984 sein Lehr- und Orchesterdiplom sowie ein Jahr später das Solistendiplom. Nach seinem Examen vertiefte er seine Studien bei Bo Nilsson in Malmö, Schweden und Pierre Thibaud in Paris.
Von 1988 bis 1998 war er Solotrompeter im Philharmonischen Staatsorchester in Bremen. Mit diesem Orchester spielte er verschiedene Solokonzerte, u.a. die deutsche Erstaufführung des "Strathclyde Concerto Nr. 3" für Trompete und Horn von Peter Maxwell Davies zusammen mit Markus Wittgens (Horn) unter Leitung des Komponisten. Aufgrund seines großen Einsatzes in der Förderung des musikalischen Nachwuchses, rief er 1991 die jährlich stattfindenden Internationalen Trompetentage Bremen, eines der führenden Blechbläserfestivals der Welt, ins Leben mit Konzerten von u.a. Ray Charles, Maurice André, Montserrat Caballé, Clark Terry, Maynard Ferguson. 1994 gründete er die Internationale Trompeten-Akademie Bremen, ein einzigartiges Ausbildungsmodell für die talentiertesten Nachwuchstrompeter aus der ganzen Welt.
An internationalen Hochschulen übt Otto Sauter eine rege Lehrtätigkeit aus. 1988 wurde er an die Hochschule für Künste in Bremen berufen und übernahm Gastprofessuren in der Royal Academy London, Toho Gakuen School for Music Tokio, Toho Gakuen Orchester Akademie Toyama, Universidad Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile und Universidade Federal do Amazonas in Manaus, Brasilien. 2014 gründete er die World Brass Association, eine weltweite Kooperation von Festivals, Orchestern, Universitäten, Kulturinstitutionen und international renommierten Künstlerkollegen, zur Förderung der Blechbläser Musik in Meisterkursen, Konzerten und professionellem Austausch weltweit, deren Honorary Musical Advisor Maestro Zubin Mehta ist, der auch die Internationale Trompeten Akademie Bremen unterstützt hat.
Otto Sauter ist einer der gefragtesten Solisten auf der Piccolo-Trompete. Im Dezember 1995 spielte er mit dem Philharmonia Orchestra London im St. James Palace in Anwesenheit des Hausherrn Prinz Charles. 1998 gastierte er anläßlich der Gründung der „Deutschen Gesellschaft zur Restaurierung der vatikanischen Kunstschätze“ im Vatikan. Dort spielte er auch im August 2000 vor Papst Johannes Paul II. und 50.000 Audienzbesuchern in Begleitung der Philharmonia Hungarica während der „Festa Musica Pro Mundo VNO“. Seit Frühjahr 2001 gastiert er regelmäßig mit seinem eigenen Zyklus geistlicher Musik „Elevazione Spirituale“ im Vatikan. Im April 2001 konzertierte er in Begleitung des China National Symphony Orchestra, unter der Leitung von Muhai Tang, in der „Verbotenen Stadt“ in Peking.
Zu Gunsten des 50jährigen Bestehens von UNICEF Deutschland hat er 2003 eine Reihe von Konzerten initiiert und gegeben in Deutschlands
schönsten Kirchen und Kathedralen, sowie die Eröffnungsgala des Schafhof-Festivals für UNICEF von Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff, der ehemaligen Weltmeisterin und Olympia Goldmedaillengewinnerin im
Dressurreiten. Nach Singen am Hohentwiel lädt er jedes Jahr große Künstler wie Montserrat Caballé, Bobby McFerrin, Michael Mendl, Lucia Alibert, Mathieu Carrière ein, um für seine Stiftung, den
Otto-Sauter-Hilfsfond, ein Benefizkonzert zu geben.
Mit der Serie „World of Baroque“ hat Otto Sauter bei EMI Classics begonnen, Konzerte seiner rund 600 Werke umfassenden Notensammlung verschollener Kompositionen barocker- und frühklassischer Meister
wie u.a. A. Scarlatti, G. Reutter oder J. M. Molter, als Welt-Ersteinspielungen aufzunehmen sowie öffentlich aufzuführen, darunter auch Arien mit Sopran (u.a. Maki Mori) und Altus (u.a. Jochen
Kowalski).
Otto Sauter widmet sich als Spezialist auf der Piccolo-Trompete aber nicht nur der Barockmusik sondern setzt sich auch für die Erweiterung des Repertoires an zeitgenössischer Originalliteratur für Piccolo-Trompete ein. So gab er u.a. Werke in Auftrag bei Julien Francois Zbinden, Harald Genzmer und Jan Koetsier. 2004 präsentierte er drei Welt-Uraufführungen von Werken des tschechischen Komponisten Juraj Filas, dessen Lehrer ein Schüler von Dvorák war, davon zwei auf dem Beethoven Fest in Bonn: Das Konzert für Piccolo Trompete und Sinfonie Orchester, aufgeführt mit dem Bonner Beethoven Orchester, das von der Bonner Rundschau als „Musik so emotional vehement wie Mahler und melodisch so schön wie Puccini“ charakterisiert wurde sowie die „Apassionata“ für Trompete und Orgel.
2008 präsentierte er die Ring-Uraufführung des neuen Konzertes für Piccolo-Trompete und Sinfonie Orchester von Mikis Theodorakis, das der international renommierte griechische Komponist für Otto Sauter geschrieben hat, in den Philharmonien in Köln und Berlin (Regie Gert Hof/ Arrangement Robert Gulya/ Portrait WDR). 2016 spielte er die Welt Uraufführung des Werks „Ikarus, Desire for Light“ Konzert für Piccolo Trompete & Sinfonie Orchester, welches der deutsche Komponist Enjott Schneider, Otto Sauter gewidmet hat, im Amazon Opera House in Manaus/ Brasilien als Ring-Uraufführung gefolgt von Kiew, Dnipro und Danzig. 2017 standen die Ring-Uraufführungen von Enjott Schneiders „Dreamdancers“, geschrieben für Otto Sauter, Piccolo Trompete und Sergei Nakariakov, Flügelhorn, auf dem Trans-Siberian Art Festival (Künstlerischer Leiter: Vadim Repin) mit dem Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra und dem Krasnojarsk Symphony Orchestra unter der Leitung von Vladimir Lande im Fokus.
Getreu seinem Motto „Außergewöhnliche Musik braucht außergewöhnliche Orte“ eröffnete Otto Sauter 2004 das jährlich stattfindende „Wartburg-Festival“. Auf der legendären Wartburg, dem UNESCO Weltkulturerbe, wo einst Martin Luther die Bibel übersetzte, vereint er gute Freunde und namhafte Künstler wie Lucia Aliberti, Klaus Mertens, Justus Frantz, Matthias Eisenberg, Jochen Kowalski, Paul Kuhn, STING Gitarrist Dominic Miller, Level 42 Keyboarder Mike Lindup, Edson Cordeiro, Michael Mendl, Dr. Ruediger Dahlke u.v.m. zu faszinierenden Festivalkonzerten im Festsaal der 1.000 jährigen Burg. 2014 war er künstlerischer Berater der Schlosskonzerte Neuschwanstein.
Im Juli 2005 eröffnete Otto Sauter als Künstlerischer Leiter das internationale Chor- und Musikfestival „Musica Sacra a Roma“ in Rom und im Vatikan. Weltstars der Musik kamen mit 32 Chören aus über 20 Nationen in exklusiven Festival-Konzerten in den schönsten und bedeutendsten Kirchen Roms und des Vatikans zusammen, um ein völkerverbindendes Zeichen für den Weltfrieden und die Ökumene zu setzen. „Musica Sacra a Roma“ steht unter der Schirmherrschaft von Seiner Eminenz Kardinal Paul Poupard, Präsident Pontificium Consilium De Cultura, Vatikan.
Anläßlich des Mozartjahres 2006 initiierte Otto Sauter den „Little Amadeus Aktionstag“ an deutschen Grundschulen gemeinsam mit dem TV Produzenten Peter Will der gleichnamigen Erfolgs-TV-Serie. Die Zeichentrickserie von KI.KA, ARD und ZDF – wurde mehrfach mit dem „Echo Klassik für Kinder“ ausgezeichnet. Das Projekt unter der Schirmherrschaft der Deutschen Mozart-Gesellschaft hat zum Ziel, Kindern klassische Musik auf unterhaltsame Weise nahe zu bringen. 2007 initiierte er als künstlerischer Leiter in Kooperation mit der Volkswagen AG und der Deutschen Post AG, die Little Amadeus Live Kinderkonzertreihe. Die aufwendige Bühnenshow mit Schauspielern, original Filmeinspielern, Solisten und Sinfonie Orchester präsentierte sich in rund 70 Konzerten in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz, u.a. in der Deutschen Oper Berlin, dem Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, dem Mozarteum Salzburg, den Konzerthäusern Dortmund und Freiburg sowie der Gläsernen Manufaktur von Volkswagen in Dresden (Regie Joachim Jäckel/ Drehbuch Klaus Wirbitzky). Für den ersten von drei geplanten Little Amadeus Kino-filmen hat er die Musik mit den Wiener Philharmonikern und Maestro Zubin Mehta aufgenommen.
Neben seiner solistischen Tätigkeit macht er auch mit dem von ihm gegründeten Ensemble „Ten of the Best“ Furore, das zehn der weltbesten Trompeter vereint und mit dem er regelmäßig erfolgreich auf Japan-, USA- und Europa-Tour geht. Im August 2001 eröffneten sie, mit einer eigens für dieses Ereignis komponierten Fanfare vor 70.000 Zuschauern, die Arena AufSchalke, das modernste Fussballstadion seiner Art in der Welt. Highlight 2006 unter seiner künstlerischen Leitung war die „Playtime Live City Concert Tour“, das deutschlandweite Musikfestival im Rahmen der FIFA Fussball Weltmeisterschaft 2006TM, unterstützt durch das Organisationskomitee FIFA WM 2006, Schirmherr: Dr. Theo Zwanziger mit 16 Eventkonzerten von Bremen bis Ludwigshafen, von Rügen bis Norderney, auf repräsentativen öffentlichen Plätzen sowie an kulturhistorisch bedeutsamen Stätten, wie der Sächsischen Staatsoper Dresden, Semperoper und dem Marktplatz in der Händelstadt Halle. Als Musikprojekte präsentierte Otto Sauter „Ten of the Best plus one“, die auf Wunsch der FIFA mit 11 Trompetern an den Start gingen, sowie „The Power of Parsifal“, ein All-Star-Team der internationalen Jazz-Szene, beide im Zusammenspiel mit den Sinfonie-Orchestern der Konzertstädte.
Regelmäßig arbeitet Otto Sauter mit renommierten Künstlerkollegen und Charakterdarstellern aus dem Schauspielgenre zusammen, die er einlädt mit ihm neue Programme in Konzerten, auf Festivals und Tourneen zu präsentieren. Biography
Otto Sauter is well-known as one of the world‘s leading trumpet soloists. As a specialist on the piccolo trumpet, the German musician has already appeared in all major concert halls.
Otto Sauter‘s musical talent was encouraged at an early age: born on the shores of Lake Constance, he was given his first trumpet lessons when he was only 4 years old. At the age of 16 he continued his musical training with Claude Rippas at the Winterthur Conservatoire, where he received his teaching and orchestral diploma in 1984 and his soloist diploma one year later. After graduating, Otto Sauter pursued further studies with Bo Nilsson in Sweden and Pierre Thibaud in Paris.
From 1988 until 1998 he was appointed principal trumpet in the Bremen State Philharmonic Orchestra. With this orchestra he played soloconcerts such as the German Premiere of the "Strathclyde Concerto No. 3" for Trumpet and Horn of Peter Maxwell Davies tgether with Markus Wittgens (Horn) conducted by Peter Maxwell Davis himself. In this north German City, he devoted a lot of energy to furthering the careers of young artists. Since 1991 he has been artistic director of the annual Bremen International Trumpet Festival, which is one of the world‘s leading events for brass players. In 1994 Otto Sauter founded the Bremen Trumpet Academy, which under his guiding hand offered the most gifted young trumpet players from all over the world a unique training programme.
Sauter also was invited for guest professorships at international universities like the Bremen Academy of Arts, the Royal Academy London, the Toho Gakuen School for Music Tokyo, the Toho Gakuen Orchestra Academy Toyama, the Universidad Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile and the Universidade Federal do Amazonas. In 2014 he founded the World & European Brass Association of international Brass Festivals, Universities, Orchestras and renowned musicians to support Brass Music in Concerts, Masterclasses and Professional Exchange worldwide.
Otto Sauter is one of the most sought-after soloists on the piccolo trumpet. In December 1995 he played with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London in the presence of HRH Prince Charles at St. James‘s Palace. 1998 saw him giving a guest performance at the Vatican as part of a concert to mark the foundation of the ‚German Society for the Restoration of the Vatican Art Treasures‘. In August 2000 he played in St. Peter‘s Square for Pope John Paul II. and 50.000 visitors together with the Philharmonia Hungarica during the Festa Musica Pro Mundo VNO. Since spring 2001 he plays regularly with his own cycle of spiritual music „Elevazione Spirituale“ at the Vatican. In April 2001 Otto Sauter played together with the China National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Muhai Tang in the Forbidden City in Beijing.
When UNICEF-Germany celebrated its 50th anniversary, Otto Sauter decided to initiate and give a series of concerts in the most beautiful and important churches all over Germany. He also played the opening gala-concert of the „Schafhof-Festival“ for UNICEF of Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff, the former World Champion in dressage and winner of the Olympic Gold Medal, in cooperation with the Hesschische Rundfunk Frankfurt.
Each year he invites renowned international artists like Montserrat Caballé or Bobby McFerrin, to give a joint concert for the „Otto Sauter Foundation“, at the Classic-Open Air of the „Hohentwiel-Festival“ on the shores of Lake Constance.
With EMI Classics, Otto Sauter started his CD series of world premiere recordings „World of Baroque“, with concerts from his music collection containing about 600 rediscovered compositions of baroque and early classical masters like A. Scarlatti, G. Reutter or J. M. Molter, that were not peformed in the last 250 years.
Besides the baroque repertory, Otto Sauter dedicated himself to the enlargement of contemporary original literature for piccolo trumpet. He commissioned works by Julien Francois Zbinden, Harald Genzmer and Jan Koetsier. In 2004 he presented three world premieres of pieces of the Czech composer Juraj Filas, whose teacher was a student of Dvorák. Two of them took place on the Beethoven Fest Bonn: The concert for piccolo trumpet and symphony orchestra, with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, that was characterized as „Music as emotional vehement as Mahler and melodic as beautiful as Puccini“ (Bonner Rundschau) and Filas‘ „Apassionata“ for trumpet and organ.
In the Berlin and Cologne Philharmony, Otto Sauter premiered the trumpet concerto for piccolo trumpet and symphony orchestra, the international renowned Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis wrote for him, in october 2008 (directed by Gert Hof/arrangement Robert Gulya). Following his motto „Remarkable Music Needs Remarkable Places“, Otto Sauter celebrated the inauguration of the first „Wartburg-Festival“ in May 2004. On the legendary Wartburg – the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, where Martin Luther translated the bible - he invited good friends and internationally reknowned artists like Lucia Aliberti, Justus Frantz, Klaus Mertens, Matthias Eisenberg, Spanish Brass, The Power of Parsifal, Ten of the Best and many more to join in a fascina-ting festival. In 2014, he takes over the Artistic Direction of the Neuschwanstein Festival, in one of the most famous castles in the world, built by King Ludwig II. in Bavaria, Germany.
In July 2005 Otto Sauter inaugurated the first international choir- and music festival „Musica Sacra a Roma“ in Rome and at the Vatican. Because of its symbiosis of masterpieces of arts and culture, the festival became a unique event in the fascinating scenery of the „Eternal City“ of Rome and the Vatican. World stars in music, like the Italian Soprano Lucia Aliberti, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the organ players Michael Schönheit and Christian Schmitt and many more, came together with 32 choirs from more than 20 nations in exclusive festival concerts all in Rome‘s most beautiful and important churches, to set a sign for ecumenism and the unifi cation of all nations in the world. Patron of the festival is Cardinal Paul Poupard, President of the Pontifi cium Consilium De Cultura, Vatican.
In 2006 - on the occasion of the 250th birthday of W. A. Mozart - he initiated the „Little Amadeus & Friends Aktionstag“ for German grammar schools together with Peter Will the television producer of the succesful children’s TV series. The cartoon series was awarded with the „Echo Klassik“ for children in 2006. The project under the protectorate of the German Mozart-Society aims at familiarizing children with classical music in an entertaining way. The „Little Amadeus & Friends Aktionstag“ is supported by several important German institutions: Deutscher Musikrat, DOV, BDMV, Deutsche Phonoakademie, VDS, VdM etc. In 2007/8 he started as artistic director the „Little Amadeus Live“ concert series and played 80 concerts in 40 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In addition to his work as a soloist, Otto Sauter regularly causes a sensation with his ensemble „Ten of the Best“, which brings ten of the world‘s best trumpeters together under one roof. They regularly go on concert tours in Japan, the USA and Europe. In August 2001 they launched the inauguration of the new Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, with a fanfare especially composed for Europe’s most modern football stadium, in front of 70.000 spectators.
Highlight 2006 under his Artistic Direction was the „Playtime Live City Concert Tour“ during the Football World Championship supported by the Organising Committee FIFA World Cup 2006. The festival took place under the patronage of Dr. Theo Zwanziger (Vicepresident OK FIFA WM 2006) all over Germany and was launched from the FIFA to demonstrate and celebrate the diversity and hospitality of Germany. The festival presented a music selection of the great football continents in 16 concerts (free of charge) in cities like Bremen, Ludwighafen, Trier, on islands like Rügen or Norderney, and at representative public places as well as historic sites like the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Semperoper or the market place in Händel’s hometown Halle. At the festival Otto Sauter presented „Ten of the Best plus one“ that on request of the FIFA was adjusted to 11 players like a football team and „The Power of Parsifal“, an All-Star Team of renowned international jazz musicians, both appearing with the symphony orchestras of the concert cities.

Nacido junto al Lago Constanza en Alemania es reconocido como uno de los solistas de trompeta más importantes del mundo. Como especialista en la Trompeta Piccolo ha actuado en las salas de conciertos más importantes a nivel internacional.
Su talento para la música fue animado desde muy temprana edad recibiendo sus primeras clases de trompeta con tan solo 4 años. A la edad de 16 continuó su enseñanza musical con Claude Rippas en el Conservatorio de Winterthur (Suiza) donde el recibió su título de docente y orquestal en 1984 y el título como solista un año más tarde. Después de graduarse prosiguió sus estudios con Bo Nilsson en Suecia y Pierre Thibaud en París.
Desde 1988 a 1998 fue trompeta principal en la Bremen State Philarmonic Orchestra. En esta ciudad del norte de Alemania dedicó mucho esfuerzo a la promoción de jóvenes artistas. Desde 1999 es el director artístico del Bremen International Trumpet Festival el cual es uno de los eventos principales para los músicos de metal a nivel internacional. En 1994 Otto Sauter fundó the Bremen Trumpet Academy que bajo su tutela ofrece a los trompetistas jóvenes más talentosos de todo el mundo un programa único de trabajo del instrumento.

Además de su trabajo como solista, Otto Sauter regularmente causa sensación con su ensemble “Ten of the Best”, el cual une a diez de los mejores trompetistas del mundo bajo un mismo techo. Hacen conciertos regularmente en Japón, EEUU y Europa.
Biografia
Otto Sauter è conosciuto come uno tra i più grandi solisti di tromba del mondo. Specializzatosi col trombino, egli è apparso nelle più importanti sale da concerto.
Il talento musicale di Otto Sauter è stato incoraggiato in tenera età, nato sulle rive del Lago di Costanza , ha ricevuto le prime lezioni di tromba quando aveva solo 4 anni. A 16 anni ha continuato i suoi studi musicali con Claude Rippas presso il Conservatorio di Winterthur, dove nel 1984 ha conseguito il diploma per l’insegnamento e orchestra e nel 1985 il diploma di solista. Dopo la laurea, Otto Sauter continuò i suoi studi con Bo Nilsson in Svezia e Pierre Thibaud a Parigi.
Dal 1988 fino al 1998 ha ricoperto il ruolo di prima tromba alla Bremen State Philarmonic Orchestra. A Brema egli ha dedicato il suo interesse alla promozione dei giovani artisti. Dal 1991 è stato direttore artistico del Bremen International Trumpet Festival, un evento tra i più importanti al mondo per gli ottoni. Nel 1994 Otto Sauter fondò la Bremen Trumpet Academy, che sotto la sua guida, ha offerto ai giovani trombettisti più talentuosi provenienti da tutto il mondo un programma di formazione unico nel suo genere.
Sauter affianca la carriera da concertista con l’insegnamentopresso scuole internazionali, come la Bremen Academy of Arts, la Gakuen School of Music di Tokyo e la Universidad Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile.
Otto Sauter è uno dei solisti più ricercato. Nel dicembre 1995 ha suonato con la Philharmonia Orchestra di Londra, alla presenza di HRH il Principe Carlo al Palazzo di St. James . Nel 1998 è stato invitato a prendere parte al concerto per celebrare la fondazione della Società tedesca per il restauro dei tesori d'arte in Vaticano. Nell'agosto 2000 ha suonato in Piazza San Pietro per Papa Giovanni Paolo II con 50.000 spettatori insieme alla Philharmonia Hungarica durante la Festa Musica Pro Mundo VNO. Dalla primavera del 2001 suona regolarmente nel ciclo di musica spirituale "Elevazione Spirituale" in Vaticano. Nell'aprile 2001 Otto Sauter suonato con la China National Symphony Orchestra diretta da Muhai Tang nella Città Proibita di Pechino.
Per il cinquantenario dell’UNICEF in Germania, Otto Sauter ha deciso eseguito una serie di concerti nelle più belle ed importanti chiese di tutta la Germania. Ha suonato inoltre al concerto gala per l’apertura del "Schafhof – Festival con l' Hesschische Rundfunk di Francoforte.
Ogni anno invita artisti di fama internazionale come Montserrat Caballé o Bobby McFerrin, a prendere parte ai concerti per la "Otto Sauter Foundation", all’"Hohentwiel - Festival" sulle rive del Lago di Costanza .
Con la EMI Classics, Otto Sauter ha inciso una serie di prime mondiali dal titolo "World of Barocco”, riscoprendo concerti di A. Scarlatti, G. Reutter e JM Molter, che non sono venivano eseguiti da oltre 250 anni.
Oltre al repertorio barocco, Otto Sauter si è dedicato alla letteratura contemporanea originale per trombino. Ha commissionato composizioni di Julien François Zbinden, Harald Genzmer e Jan Koetsier. Nel 2004 ha presentato tre anteprime mondiali del compositore ceco Juraj Filas, (il cui maestro fu allievo di Dvorák) delle quali due al Beethoven Fest Bonn: Il concerto per trombino e orchestra con la Beethoven Orchester di Bonn, e "Apassionata" per tromba e organo.
Nel 2008 ha eseguito per la prima volta il concerto per trombino dedicatogli dal compositore greco Mikis Theodorakis con i Berliner Philharmoniker e con la Cologne Philharmony.
Nel 2004, seguendo il suo motto "La musica notevole bisogno di luoghi notevoli", Otto Sauter ha inaugurato il primo "Wartburg - Festival" a Wartburg (luogo dove Lutero tradusse la Bibbia e riconosciuto Patrimonio mondiale dall’UNESCO) invitando amici e artisti di fama internazionale come Lucia Aliberti, Justus Frantz , Klaus Mertens, Matthias Eisenberg, Ottone spagnolo e altri.
Nel luglio 2005 ha inaugurato il festival internazionale "Musica Sacra a Roma". Grazie alla alla coesistenza della tra arte, cultura e lo scenario offerto dalla “città eterna” festival è diventato un evento unico. Stelle del mondo della musica, come il soprano italiano Lucia Aliberti, la Malmö Symphony Orchestra, gli organisti Michael Schönheit e Christian Schmitt e molti altri, si sono riuniti con 32 cori provenienti da oltre 20 nazioni dando dei concerti nelle più importanti chiese , per dare avvio unificazione ecumenica di tutte le nazioni al mondo. Il patrone del festival è il Cardinale Paul Poupard, presidente del Pontificio Consiglio Vaticano della cultura.
Nel 2006 in occasione del 250° anniversario dalla nascita di W. A. Mozart - ha avviato la "Little Amadeus & Friends Aktionstag "in collaborazione con le scuole elementari tedesce e Peter Will il produttore televisivo di famose serie tv per bambini hanno creato una serie di cartoni animati che ha ricevuto il premio "Echo Klassik". Il progetto ha avuto il patrocinio della German-Mozart Society e mira a far conoscere ai bambini la musica classica in modo divertente. "Little Amadeus & Friends Aktionstag" è supportata da diverse importanti istituzioni tedesche: Deutscher Musikrat , DOV, BDMV, Deutsche Phonoakademie, VDS, VdM ecc, Nel 2007/8 è stato direttore artistico della serie di concerti "Little Amadeus Live" e ha eseguito 80 concerti in 40 città tra Germania, Austria e Svizzera.
Oltre alla carriera da solista, Otto Sauter si occupa dell’ensemble "Ten of the Best", composto da dieci trombettisti migliori al mondo. L’ensamble tiene regolarmente dei tour in Giappone, USA ed Europa. Nell'agosto 2001 hanno aperto l'inaugurazione del nuovo stadio AufSchalke di Gelsenkirchen in Germania, eseguendo una fanfara composta per l’occasione davanti a 70.000 spettatori.
Nel 2006 sotto è stato direttore artistico del "Playtime Lice City Concert Tour" durante i mondiali di calcio organizzato e sostenuto dal Comitato organizzatore della Coppa del Mondo FIFA 2006. Il festival ha avuto il patrocinio del Dr. Theo Zwanziger (Vicepresidente OK FIFA WM 2006) in tutta la Germania si è svolto con lo scopo dimostrare e celebrare l'ospitalità della Germania e durante il quale si sono tenuti 16 concerti gratuiti in città come Brema, Ludwighafen, Trier, in isole come Rügen o Norderney, e in luoghi rappresentativi come la Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Semperoper o la piazza del mercato nella città natale di Händel Halle. Durante il festival Otto Sauter si è esibito col suo ensamble (composto da 11 elementi su richiesta della FIFA) "Ten of the Best plus one", e con un gruppo di Jazzisti di fama internazionale apparendo con le orchestre sinfoniche delle città ospitanti.
Otto Sauter collabora con orchestra e artisti quali RSO Prag, RSO MDR e HR, Tcheque Philharmony, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven Orchester di Bonn, Bachcollegium di Lipsia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Münchner Kammerorchester, Cappella Istropolitana, Edita Gruberova, José Carreras, Gösta Winberg, Ivo Porgorelich, Elena Bashkirova, Jochen Kowalski, Mario Adorf, Michael Mendl, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Poppen, Marcello Viotti.
